Water trays lcan be decorative, beautiful, depending on the container. If they in addition add a little humidity, that s fine.

I bought a medium sized one a few years ago, and watched it decline (too low light, over potted in the wrong mix) I was able to save some of it and it’s doing well - but it looks like what you say it shouldn’t look like. Oh well, I think I’m just doing to love it unconditionally for what it is and see what happens.

Wow such great tips. A neighbor back in California gave me a small potted monstera from her plant shop. When I moved cross country I couldn’t fit all of it in my car so I cut a clipping, if you would. It’s been two years and that clipping became two. Both are still in water because I’m so scared to hurt or kill them. They’ve given me a few leaves as well. I’ll go watch your other monstera videos for potting help.

Hi, I have 2 top cuttings and 4 mid cuttings rooting in water. Afterwards I want to have 2 plants with 3 cuts each. When I plant them in soil, can I put 2 rooted mid cuts and 1 rooted top cut in the same pot or do I need to plant the 2 top cuts in a pot and the 4 midcuts in another pot? After a year or so, does it still look weird having top cuts next to mid cuts in the same pot and does it even work out or will the plant die?

This is such a good video!! Over 1 year ago I got a sick over watered Monstera and it always was a pain in the *** . It never recovered and just looked worse. Calatheas decided to die like overnight after moving in a darker appartement. Meanwhile I found joy in the most basic plants like pothos and ranking philodendron which can make beautiful leaves. So what? 🤗🥰

@KillThisPlant My dads monstera needs to be propagated as it looks similar to the one in your video. However, he cut off all the aerial roots the day before i wanted to help him. Can i still water or moss propagate the plant without aerial roots? Thanks

Can I separate my Monstera into 3 potted plants since they are growing in different directions?

I use a humidity tray, AND I actually tested it before I committed to it. It works! I should point out I live in Arizona, it’s currently 29% humidity outside and in my house it sits around 35 without any help. I put gravel from my driveway onto a large baking sheet and filled with water. The humidity goes up to 57. I have to top off the water twice a week.

Yes I repotted my monstera immediately I put a trellis on the side it helps it’s so green I changed it’s soil and I changed the pot to a terra cotta one! I also just propagated a pothos this is helping with my anxiety n depression if u feel down and out buy a plant it helps me so much u habe no idea

I just inherited a VERY old BOP from a friend, his mom got it in the 1960’s. I’m trying to learn everything I can about it because I feel like I just got a new child to care for! Somehow… despite not being repotted for almost 10 years… and generally looking like it’s in rough shape… it has a flower stalk!! I’m so afraid to kill it lol

1:19 this is incorrect. I really like the fact you make these videos, however, I bought mine from Walmart 2 years ago, same issues you describe. Turn your plant only one time, and never turn it again. They will all straighten out the same direction, if I could drop photos, I’d show you mine, it’s 5’8” with three stems. I hand made my supports, and now everybody grows vertical. To keep them vertical, use those back roots and aim those sucks right back into the dirt. They will grow and stabilize the plant in that position. We’re dealing with plants, not rocks- they will adapt and change to their afforded opportunities. Your video is aimed at immediate results, my plant is proof of patience,

Tried doing this to one of my plants. I went with a 60% perlite to 40% soil (with some pre-mixed perlite). We put 2 main stems together into soil and gave it a good soak. The plant seems to be in shock and all the leaves are drooping to the floor for the last 72 hours. @killthisplant Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

Please use wood wedges instead of screwing into the floor to hold in your planks. A couple of wedges hammered across from each other would hold it fine.

I transferred all my soil plants in leca and i did that just to get rid of those demon nats. I took months to do this as i have many plants. Its worth the TROUBLE getting them out of soil,wasging the soil off the roots, disposing the soil,,getting orchid pots,buying the leca, washing the leca, buying the nutrients and then checking every plant for growth and cleaning the roots that begin to sloff off. Checking and changing the water, removing dead leaves and old roots. Yes there's a lot of work to do just to transfer plants from soul to leca. I started back in February of 24 and i have 3 plants that i will have to leave in soil that will not grow in water. And because these 3 are in soil, i found those fungus nats again. Its the soil that has them. I have my arsenal ready for them and i left them eviction notices by placing the yellow stickers around the 3 plants. I so HATE THEM.. At least i don't have to deal with soil and the mess it creates. Great info.as usual.😅😊

I found with my rescue I could also train the leaves to face forward with some help of some ribbon gently tied near the leaf neck and back to the pole. Along with a vertical grow light I was able to eventually release the ribbons and had a very "organized" looking monstera. But I also have some droopy,less hardy, less full looking leaves, that I think are what makes your re-arranged monstera example as reading less attractive.
